Mia is an illustrator and animation director based in Stockholm. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2005, where she completed a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration followed by a postgraduate diploma in Animation. Since then, she has worked across illustration and animation projects internationally, collaborating with clients in publishing, fashion, culture, and media.After twelve years in London, Mia returned to Sweden in 2011, where she is now based.Alongside her commercial work, Mia is also a children’s book author. In 2013, she published her first book about a crocodile named Hugo. The book has since grown to include four further titles, as well as an additional book outside of the Hugo universe.In recent years, Mia has been experimenting with more hands-on, tactile techniques. She now works with tufting, embroidery, wood, and linocut, alongside her illustration and animation work, exploring new ways of building texture, depth, and character in her images.Her clients include The Guardian, Esquire, Acne Studios, Schnayderman, the BBC, Åhléns, Moderna Museet, Bloomsbury Publishing, Gulf Air, Dagens Nyheter, Vanity Fair, Göteborgs Kex, Bonnier Publishing, Rabén & Sjögren, Intuit QuickBooks, Vogue India, Tatler, Damernas Värld, Barncancerfonden, Energimyndigheten, and RFSL, among others.
